About This Site

I share my entrepreneurial journey, how I go from zero - zero money, zero connections, zero skills - to building myself up into the life I want to live. Hoping to inspire others to do the same!

I write and share my experience being a solopreneur.

The difficulties I face. The way I feel. The way I overcome. Everything. I try my best to record it here, so perhaps it can help somebody else.

I hope through my writing, my podcast, and my videos that I can encourage individuals to set off on their own entrepreneurial journey.

It can be overwhelming to start. Many people I've met have been wanting to "start their thing" for years now, but nothing has come of it yet.

I was in the exact same situation; I've wanted what I am doing now - website, podcast, YouTube, social media, content creation, communities, etc. - for years now. Yet I never succeeded until just recently.

It was only by relentlessly throwing myself into the fire over and over again that I was able to finally break through.

In the beginning, there is such much resistance. Everything and everyone, including yourself, are holding you back. It's an uphill battle and you're struggling all the way. It's brutal, almost impossible, to gain traction.

I guess my point with all this is to show other people the truth. How it really is. Even the emotional ups and downs and the feeling of disheartenment.

It's something that may be omitted from other's stories. They may only show the highlights. Or put up a facade to attract others. But what people really need to know is the truth. The human experience. How it really is.

This site is for those who wish to meticulously craft their life and become a solopreneur traveling the world.

I talk about a lot of things, from philosophy and fitness, to how to socialize and how to build a personal brand. And more.

It's because in my belief these things are all interconnected and are all important.

It's better to be a buff, philosophically-minded, charismatic solopreneur than just an ordinary businessman. Our goal is a well-balance life, thriving in all aspects.

It's because I believe these pillars will all support each other. Fitness and health and sleep and low-stress and healthy relationships will all lead to improved performance in all other domains of life.

Our goal is to find the overall optimized path for wellbeing. Not extreme dead ends that will leave us dry and regretful.

There are certain virtues that we need to build up in order to be successful

A large part of this website is philosophical. I believe their are guiding principles that you can implement into your life to better set yourself up.

These principles will help guide in decision-making. They will lead to better outcomes and push you further along in the direction you wish to head.

They act as the basic programming, operating system, in your brain. The basis for your reality. This is something to examine deeply and carefully craft.

What does this site have to offer?

It's a bit chaotic, to be honest. Basically, I will dive into creating the principles I mentioned above. These principles I will use to create a good life.

In addition to this, I will share resources that I find helpful. Solutions to entrepreneurial problems. My personal experience and strategies. How to go from zero - zero money, zero connections, zero skills - to something great.

I will share personal matters if I think it will provide value. But the primary mission is to help others along their entrepreneurial journey. There'll eventually be a thriving community, and we will all work together towards a better end.

Does this site cost money?

No. Everything is free upon signup.

Perhaps I'll add a donation feature later for those who have the means and the want to support me. Otherwise, all content is free!

I hope to rely on other means, such as modeling, teaching English, and personal training, to make a living. This is nothing but a passion project. My hope to contribute something to this world.

Who am I and what are my experiences?

My name is Jacob Pugmire. I am from Seattle, Washington, USA.

I currently live in Taiwan as a model and student studying business. I speak English and Chinese, hence why this website is bilingual.

I've been to Canada, China, Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, and Vietnam.

I've studied at two universities in the US on full scholarship. But due to Covid and classes becoming online, I applied for a received 4 scholarships, including the Gilman International Scholarship, to go abroad and study at Chiang Mai University In Thailand for 8 months.

After experiencing life abroad, I wanted more. I did not return home but instead came to Taiwan, National Taiwan University, to study Chinese under the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship.

Then I applied for and received the Taiwan Scholarship and began studying business at National Taiwan Normal University.

I work as a model and English tutor in Taiwan. Before in the US I worked as a personal trainer for 2 years. I received my personal trainer certificate at the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I also hold a Teaching English as a Foreign Language certificate with The TEFL Academy.

In the US I studied physical therapy. In Thailand I studied philosophy and Buddhism. In Taiwan I studied Chinese and business.

For work experience, I have worked as a personal trainer, an English teacher, and a model. As you can see, I mostly enjoy freelancing and running my own solopreneur enterprise.

Some other facts about me, I competed on a national level for USA climbing while in high school. I also train parkour, muay thai, calisthenics, weight lifting, yoga, and I am on the gymnastics team at my university, NTNU.

I am passionate about philosophy, the good life, life philosophy, examining the world around us, creating guiding principles, self-growth, crafting the self, meditation, and everything to do with the mind and the body and the human experience.

I also enjoy entrepreneurship. I like creating things. I like building something and looking back on it, seeing with undeniable proof of what I have accomplished. I like the creativity involved with entrepreneurship and I like the difficulty and the person you have to become in order to succeed. I enjoy the challenge and meaning it adds to my life.

In my free time, I enjoy being social. I am fascinated by other people and their unique traits, intricacies, and experiences. I want to learn from them, and I extremely value my relationships. I care deeply about other people, and at times, it makes me cry. I want all my loved ones to live painless, happy, fulfilling lives.

I am also a neurotic. I feel the highest highs and the lowest lows in life. I am both inundated by the beauty of the world but also crushingly disheartened by the sheer suffering that life is. It is an odd pendulum, but through stoic practice I have learned to accept things how they are and to be unfazed by the changing of events. I feel that I am mentally strong and can handle most things.

My greatest enemy is myself and all my flaws. I live with regret over silly things. I don't follow my own advice and do things that I know are bad for me. Or I am not courageous enough to do the things that I know are best for me. This is my greatest battle, a philosophical one. And it is my greatest goal to overcome this. A large part of this website is dedicated to this. How to overcome the self and build yourself up from scratch. How to craft the self. How to be the person you want to be.
