My first newsletter, I want to motivate people

My first attempt at a newsletter. I just want to motivate other people. I decided to start now.

Good morning everyone.

This is my first attempt at a newsletter.

Basically I want to write motivation. Create a community where we pursue our goals.

Let you know - you aren't alone.

It's always been my dream to write something like this - so, I decided to start now.

See how it goes.

Just start and iterate and improve.

Yesterday during my livestream I mentioned why walking is such an adventurous way to travel - and how it's a philosophy that can be applied in other areas of life.

When you look far in the distance, and see where you are, from where you want to go,

it looks impossible.

The mountain looks goddamn insurmountable.

However, from what I learned from my walk around Taiwan, is it's actually not that bad.

You just kind of, keep moving forward, and bam, suddenly you're there!

I took this mindset and applied it to other areas of my life too, like video editing.

I have 30 minutes of raw footage and I somehow have to turn this into a short, entertaining, 1 minute video.

It's an absolute pain to do, but it just takes time.

I sit there for a few hours, one step at a time, deleting some footage, tweaking some things, adding some bilingual subtitles, and sooner or later, wow, I have a video I can post!

It looks impossible in the beginning, but after just sitting with it for a while, repolishing repolishing, you'll have something nice in the end.

Just like this newsletter, this is like the 4th time I've written it, each time with a different style and tone - and each time my intuition told me "this isn't it."

I just kept rewriting and rewriting until I found my voice. Iteration iteration.

It's like the Japanese philosophy Kaizen, which just means continuous improvement through iteration.

Basically you just have to do it over and over again until you get it just right.

Good things take time, and that's okay.

You just keep moving forward, trying, and eventually you'll succeed.

I wish you have the best of days today! I love you all.

Warm Regards,

Jacob Pugmire
